My newly repaired butt and I are back in the saddle again as it were. Yesterday I went for the second bicycle ride of the year. Okay, I didn’t go very far—just around the park where I live but I did do five laps or the equivalent of four miles. I am looking forward to hitting the bike paths as much as I can this summer now that I can sit down on a bike seat once more.
This has been an interesting year so far and I mean that in the fullest sense of the Chinese curse for I do seem to find myself living in interesting times. Not everyting is bad but neither has it all been good. That which does not kill you may very well make you stronger but before it does it can hurt you, a lot. While pain itself can be and often is educational, no one ever claimed it was pleasant.
The pain I went through after surgery turned out to be worth it for the area no longer hurts at all. Only time will tell if I come out of the rest of this year feeling it was all worth it or not.
